The above movie is a compilation of many different movies put to music to showcase some of the capabilities of Final Cut Pro and Mat Eastwood. You may also click the picture below.
The above two examples come from the film "Troublesome Man", which was not a production of Super Happy Films, but featured Mat Eastwood as the film's co-editor. These examples are from pieces of the film that were edited mostly by Mat Eastwood. They show examples of dialogue editing and opening credits editing.
The film was shot on 16mm Kodak color film, and ran for approximately 30 minutes. For context, the following plot synopsis comes from the films DVD cover:
"Sam is a quiet and introverted film archivist. His over active imagination begins to thrust him into fantasies where he pictures himself in different genres of film just as his relationship with a young waitress, Veda, is taking off. Soon Sam finds himself at a crossroads, trying to balance his imaginary life with his real life."
Written/Directed by: Brantley Palmer
THE SONG THAT CHANGED THE WORLD
Made before Super Happy Films had come into being, it is still the complete work (writing/directing/editing) of Mat Eastwood. It is a five minute long video about a crazy Latin song that everyone in the world absolutely loves, with the exception of the movie's protagonist.
A film about the rise of Uzbekistan, (the man, not the country), who is thrown out by the world only to be rejuvenated by the Belgian Jive Fairy. See Uzbekistan as he dances through his metaphysical oasis, as he learns he does not need the world after all, only his brown suede shoes. In truth, you may not find this movie as cut and dry as the afore-mentioned explanation, but hopefully you will be entertained by it anyway. The ghostly effect towards the end is not a result of poor video quality, it was actually added for effect to exemplify the Great Beyond. This movie was also filmed at half speed, and then sped up in post production.
Real versions of all of these films are available upon request, and I am also happy to answer any questions about the production value, editing choices, etc. that you may have. Please feel free to Contact Us.
More Films to come, so check back often.
